Opticabase can help with automating SMS patient contact by setting up groups of messages that are then automatically sent out to patients at predefined intervals. For example. Sending out a message to a patient with blepharitis to make sure that they are still conforming to advise that is given for blepharitis.

Setting up is done in “Lists” and then “SMS Auto set up”.

Give the group a name on the screen (as above), choose how soon after adding the group to a patient you would like the first SMS to be sent. Choose if you want the messages to repeat themselves.

Click on “Messages” to input the messages for that group.

Type in the messages and the order (Message No), along with the number of days until the next message goes.

That is the set up finished with.

To add a group to a specific patient you go to their patient details screen and click on “Auto SMS” on the right of the patient details screen which takes you to a screen where you can choose from a drop down list a group or multiple groups for that patient.

You can monitor how many SMS messages of the different groups have been sent for a given period by clicking on the “Auto SMS sent” button on the banking screen.

You can also add an “SMS group” to selected patients.

Click on “Add Groups To Pxs” in top right corner of theĀ “SMS Auto set up” screen.

  • In order to add an Auto SMS Group to a number of patients you can fill in the details above. You can either include specific frames eg. Rayban and or a minimum spend or choose a hobby group such as VIP.
  • Insert your parameters in the boxes above and click on the “Add to Group” button.

Removing these groups from a specific patient.

1. If someone has “No Promo” ticked on their patient details screen then they are excluded from having a specific AutoSMS group added to them.

2. If someone who is in an AutoSMS group asks not to receive any more marketing messages then Delete their group from their AutoSMS page (from Patient Details) and tick “No Promo”.

3. If you just need to remove someone from a specific group but they want to receive promo in the future then Delete their group from their AutoSMS page (from Patient Details) but DO NOT tick “No Promo”.
