A new prescription:
Click on New Rx to start a new prescription.
Insert the PD.
When inserting the prescription it is easiest to use the number pad (The number keys on the far right of a keyboard) along with the enter key to move between boxes. There is no need to use .05 as .2 and .7 automatically update to .25 and .75. You can use the +/- button for transposing.
The dispensing advice box information gets transferred to the patients details screen.
The Px Advice box is for notes such as referred for cataracts, RE amblyopic etc.
Clicking on SVD, SVN, SVD/SVN or Multi inserts the appropriate NHS Voucher. You can also add in Tint vouchers etc by using the drop down boxes.
Printing the GOS 2 and GOS 3 from this screen will include the voucher type and Rx. Clicking on No Rx prints a GOS 2 without a prescription.
A Private Rx can be printed off from this screen.
Opticabase can be linked to a retinal camera, so please let us know if you wish to use this facility.
The “Previous Spectacles” button at the top will show any previously dispensed spectacles.
When you close the Rx screen it automatically locks the boxes so if you return to it and want to make changes you need to unlock the screen by unticking the lock box in the bottom right corner. This is to stop accidental overwriting of a previous prescription.
