On the receiving device

  • Click on Windows “Start” button
  • Click on “Settings”
  • Click on “System”
  • Click on “Projecting to this PC” in the column on the left side of the screen
  • Set the “Some Windows and Android devices can project to this PC when you say it’s OK” drop-down menu and select the Always Off option.
  • Set the “Ask to project to this PC” drop-down menu and select the Every time a connection is required option.
  • Set the “Require PIN for pairing” drop-down menu and select the Never option.
  • Turn off “This PC can be discovered for projection only when plugged in to power”


  • Click on the Windows “Start” button again
  • Type the word connect
  • Choose the first option that comes up
  • Click the double headed arrow button in the bar at the top of the screen to enter in full-screen mode.

That computer is now ready to receive the screen of the other computer.

On the sending device (eg the one with Opticabase on)

  • Open the action centre by clicking on the small icon on the far right of your taskbar along the bottom of your screen.
  • Click on the “Connect” button
  • Click the device you want to project the screen. (It may take a while to appear.)

Now you should see your Main computer screen mirrored on your second computer/laptop/tablet

For future connections

  • On the secondary device click on the Windows “Start” button
  • Type the word connect
  • Choose the first option that comes up
  • Click the double headed arrow button in the bar at the top of the screen to enter in full-screen mode.
  • On the main device open the action centre by clicking on the small icon on the far right of your taskbar along the bottom of your screen.
  • Click on the Connect button
  • Choose the computer/laptop/tablet you want to connect to.
