If your Optometrists are independent prescribers they can use Opticabase as follows:

Tick IP next to each IP Optometrist on Lists/Optometrists that independent prescribes.

On FIT screen (see below) you need to tick IP and then choose “IP Diagnoses” in top box and then “IP Management” in bottom box and input the relevant info. Then you can fill in and print a medical Rx.

On Supp/Extra Visits screen (see below) you can tick the IP box after choosing an IP Optom’s name. Then you will be able to type in the Diagnoses, Management and Medical Rx.

On the Till screen you can get a report of all the IPs that Optometrists have carried out for a specific period.
