Adding an Outside Rx (Opticabase Clinical)

In Opticabase Clinical, you can add an outside Rx using the Extra Exams screen bottom left on the Exam page (Supp screen for Scotland). This saves having to add a whole new clinical record.

  • Click on “New record” on the Extra Exams screen and write “Tested at xxx on xxx” in the symptoms box.
  • Enter “Out Rx” is the “visit type” box.
  • Enter the prescription on the right hand side of the screen on the Rx boxes.
  • Use the Voucher drop down boxes to choose the voucher type (eg A, B etc) and use the other boxes if there is prism or tint etc. if the patient has brought in a GOS 3.
  • Close the screen and say “Yes” to updating the Rx
  • On returning to the patient details screen, insert the patients R and L Distance PDs in the top right corner of the screen next to the Rx.
  • Return to the Main Menu screen
