After a PC has an Windows 10 update you may not be able to access Opticabase from secondary computers or you may keep getting an “Error” message when going into “Patient details” or “Cannot connect to …. SQL”. This is due to the update turning password using on across the network.

(You may want to print these instructions off to make it easier to follow)

6. Then RIGHT click on the Ethernet connection that is not disconnected or disabled.

7. Then Left click on Properties at the bottom of the menu that pops up.

8. Then UNTICK the box next to “Internet Protocol Version 6”. (Leave Version 4 ticked.)

9. Then click OK and close any windows that you opened using the cross in the top right corner.

If you are using an SQL version of Opticabase you may get a message on the Main PC when you try to open Opticabase to say that it cannot connect to …..SQL….. If this happens you need to double click on “startSQL” on your Main computer’s desktop, click “Yes” when it ask if you want to run this file” and wait until the black box that appears says that it has started successfully. You can then press any key on your keyboard to continue and open Opticabase as usual.
